Highlight of Last Week:
I could get cute and call something else out, but it’s hard to go anywhere else than The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for the highlight of the week (honorable mention to Balatro hitting iOS and Android). I’ve yet to dive in, but did watch a few streams. What a great looking game with the usual Nintendo charm. Yes, there does seem to be some lag and frame drops at times, but nothing that put me off from giving it a try.
Coming This Week
Cryptmaster is a game that caught my eye short after its release on PC back in May. I’m more of a console gamer, so I’m delighted to see it come to Playstation and Xbox consoles this week. Described by the publisher as a”bizarre dungeon adventure where words control everything. Fill in the blanks with text or voice to uncover lost abilities, embark on strange quests, and solve mindbending riddles.” It’s currently rated 96% positive on Steam and I see no reason why it wouldn’t translate well to consoles. My only nitpick is that a Switch release would have been great, but this is still a win for a wider audience if the game is as weirdly interesting as it looks.
Whether it needed a remake or not, I’ll take it. I love getting into creepy games in October and I need an excuse to play through Until Dawn on PS5. The $60 USD price tag is enough to make folks who’ve played the original hesitate I’m sure. I’m looking forward to seeing it in action before I hit the buy button.
